| "That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us, and our fellowship is with the Father and with his son Jesus Christ." I John 1:3 We welcome all persons who respond in trust and obedience to God’s grace in Jesus Christ and desire to become part of the membership and ministry of this church. If you are interested in membership, please indicate on the friendship pad in the worship service, or telephone the church office for more details. We hope you will consider being a part of the Siesta Key Chapel family of faith as together we learn how to be more faithful to Christ’s call and claim on our lives. You may become an active member by one of these ways: Confession of Faith (those who have never united with a church); Reaffirmation of Faith (those who have been active in a former church); or by a Letter of Transfer from another church (we will obtain this for you). You must meet with the pastor for new member orientation, and then be received by the Session. AN ACTIVE MEMBER of Siesta Key
Chapel is a person who has made a profession of faith in Christ, has
been baptized, has been received by the Session of the church, and
is involved in the church’s
work and worship. An active member is entitled to all the rights and
privileges of the church, including the right to participate in the Sacrament
of the Lord’s Supper, to present children for baptism, to serve
on committees, to take part in meetings of the congregation, to vote
and to hold office. AN AFFILIATE MEMBER of Siesta Key Chapel is an active member of another church, and has been received by the Session as an affiliate member. People who reside in our community for part of the year should consider this category of membership so they may have a "church home away from home" while they are here. An affiliate member is entitled to all the rights and privileges of an active member except the rights to hold office or to vote in a congregational meeting (although affiliates may attend and speak at congregational meetings). AN INACTIVE MEMBER of Siesta Key Chapel is someone who is no longer involved in the life of the congregation, and whose name has been removed from the active role, either at their request or at the discretion of the Session; however, their name is retained on the inactive role until such time that a request is received for transfer to another church, or they choose to reactivate their membership at Siesta Key Chapel, or they are deceased. |
